River Ruins
First Appeared: Book 1 at the age of 12
Items: Pick-ax grappling hook called “Digger” which has been in the family for three generations.
This junior archaeologist loves adventure and adrenaline, often pushing himself to his limits. Yet, he also enjoys quietly reading and studying hard before every expedition. He’s an avid rock climber and can swing from his grappling hook as good as any ninja he ever met, but water activities are his favorites, namely swimming, scuba diving, and surfing. His mom often says that he learned to swim before he even knew how to walk. He’s fascinated with the wonders of the ancient world and often gets lost in his imagination. River dreams of becoming a great archaeologist and continuing the Ruin Hunters legacy like his father and grandfather before him.
Tru Ruins
First Appeared: Book 1 at the age of 9
Items: Slingshot named “Bullyslayer”
Meet Tru Ruins of the Ruin Hunters. This cheeky little spitfire is 51 pounds of pure sass. She admires her big sister Faith, and even though she gets a kick out of teasing her big brother River, especially about his purse (aka his satchel), she secretly looks up to him as well. She’s got supreme climbing skills, and she’s the sharpest shooter in the west with her slingshot, aptly named “Bullyslayer.” However, it’s her eye for the not-so-obvious that sets her apart from her pack, as she can see simple answers to riddles and puzzles that were missed by others
Faith Ruins
First Appeared: Book 1 at the age of 14
Items: A Smartwatch which projects interactive holograms. She also has a state-of-the-art drone called “Dragonfly.”
Meet Faith Ruins of the Ruin Hunters. A champion kickboxer and an award-winning ballerina, Faith is a perfect blend of strength and beauty. Her passion, though, lies in crafting unique weapons and high-tech gear, as can be seen by her smartwatch, "Genie," which projects interactive holograms with the rub of her wrist. Faith is fascinated by history yet loves to push the limits of the future. Despite her name, she can sometimes lack faith and opts instead for rational, scientific explanations. One thing she does believe in entirely, though, is her family: she knows that there are no limits to what they can achieve when working together.
Riddick Ruins
First Appeared: Book 1 at the age of 42
